Karastan Ashara

The Ashara Collection takes traditional elements of rug design and cuts out the strict rules that govern the creation of a traditional rug. Constructed in America, from high quality New Zealand wool, each of these rugs have the luxury and durability of the originals that inspired them.

About Karastan

Karastan rugs began in the 1920’s, in a small mill in North Carolina. Marshall Field & Co. decided they wanted to machine make their own high quality oriental style rugs. The result was a collection of rugs indistinguishable from original imported rugs, at a much lower price. These new rugs were first sold out of Wanamaker’s New York department store in 1928. From there they have grown into one of the world’s leading providers of luxurious area rugs. Decorating your home or office with a Karastan area rug has become a status symbol of the well-to-do as the very name of Karastan has become synonymous with home luxury.
