There truly is nothing like a classic. Whether you are talking about classic cars, classic literature, or classic art, these are all appreciated because of their timeless beauty and meaning. One of my most favorite museums in the world is the Museum of Art in Vienna Austria. There are so many beautiful paintings here and they mostly all come from the renaissance era. The size of some of these paintings is incredible and the amount of skill that it took to make them is remarkable. It is a wonderful place to visit.
There are other things that are classic too. Classic designs are always a favorite for me. This is very true for home furniture and décor. I like the classic looking home. Now that I am looking to change the look of my home, there are a lot of things that I think that I can do. I have my instruments. There is a piano and a couple of guitars. I use these, but they also look good just sitting here. I think I want to change the fireplace, but it has a nice mantle around it. I like the art work that I have and I have acquired a collection over the years. Some of it has come from friends and family and I am proud of all of it.
I kind of need it to all come together though. There has to be something to tie everything together and make it all work. The only thing I can think of is to get an Oriental rug. I have had the good fortune to know people who understand style. It is great because this is one area that I am particularly weak in. I normally have to have someone go with me just to help me buy clothes. I can tell you that on more than one occasion I have had to face the teasing of my friends for my lack of style. I have other friends who really know how to decorate a home. They know just how to make a house feel like a home.
One of the things that my friends pointed out to me is how good an area rug would look in my home. I like these types of rugs just as much as anyone else, but I can’t seem to find a place with cheap area rugs. I’m not much for style. I try to get things that look good but I can’t always seem to find something for me. Things change too fast for me. This is very true for clothing and I always need to get a little help from my closest friends just to get something that will look good on me. You could also say the same about home decorations. This is just not an area I feel comfortable with dealing with. Whether this concerns art, pictures or other decorations, I am just not that in tune with the times.
That is why I enjoy a more classic look when it comes to my home. It is much easier to deal with styles that have been around for a while than to find something that is “in fashion.” That is OK by me because it just makes my life a lot easier. Recently I have been thinking about trying to change the look of my home. I have been in my place for a number of years now and I have grown used to the way that it looks.
