Nylon fibers are very strong and for this reason it is the fiber most widely used for making rugs. Rugs made from nylon are easy to maintain, extremely durable, and soil and mildew resistant, all of which makes them ideal for areas where there is heavy foot traffic. Nylon is not stain resistant but nearly every rug is treated with a stain protector.
